The reader is referred to the article, "Roman Catholics urge their Church to adopt the Orthodox practice of ecclesiastical divorce," by the Revd. Luke Uhl.   Fr. Uhl is a priest of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.  The original article appeared in Diocesan news, vol. V, no. 7 (July 1997), a publication of the Greek Orthodox Diocese of Denver.  A convenient re-print is found in Orthodox tradition, vol. xv, nos. 2/3, 1998, pp. 6-10.   This publication can be ordered from St. Gregory Palamas Monastery, POB 398, Etna, CA  96027-0398.

One is reminded of the adage: Men marry hoping the woman will remain the same; women marry hoping the man will change.
What is more ghastly than a long life in a mismatched (mismated) marriage--one in which each partner wastes the other's life?
