BUBBA 

Bubba, whose mama cheated on her mate, doesn't look like a full-bred dalmatian; but
he claims that, if spots are good, a few big ones are as good as lots of tiny ones.
The symmetrical spot on his rump goes half-way down his tail, which
 has got a white tip--Piki says that it looks like a cat's tail.  Bubba
wags it constantly.  He's got dalmatian spots on the roof of
 of his mouth and on the pads of his feet.  Though Matey 
  almost had a nervous breakdown when Bubba 
arrived,  things have greatly improved, as 
 the photos show.  Bubba outgrew his 
harness in a week and a half.

      Last night (and again tonight), Matey began doing something very nice:  When he saw the little mutt biting and bothering me, he intervened and diverted Bubba to biting his own muzzle.  He has begun to play with Bubba, so the future looks rosey on that front..  The critters were alone this morning while I was in town shopping.  Bubba is bigger than the cat now.  But he has undergone the humiliation of having Piki put him in his place twice now.  That phase seems to be past, though.
